Craig French
Senior Kung Fu & Chi Kung/Qi Gong Instructor
Originally from England, Craig French brings a deep and well-rounded expertise in traditional Chinese martial arts. With a strong foundation in both hard and soft styles, Craig is a passionate and dedicated instructor, committed to sharing the discipline, depth, and spirit of authentic Kung Fu.
Craig’s journey began in 2015 at the renowned Nam Yang Kung Fu Retreat in Thailand, where he trained under Master Iain Armstrong.
His years of dedicated study led him to become a senior instructor at the retreat, mentoring students from around the world. During his time there, he also had the privilege of learning from Grandmaster Tan Soh Tin, whose knowledge further enriched Craig’s understanding of traditional systems.
Craig’s expertise spans a wide range of disciplines. He is proficient in the Tiger-Crane Combination Art, a dynamic Southern Shaolin system known for its balance of power and precision. In addition to over 15 freehand routines, Craig has mastered more than a dozen traditional Shaolin weapon forms, including the staff, broadsword, spear, and straight sword.
His internal training is equally developed. He practices and teaches Da Mo Vein Tendon Chi Kung, which builds strength, resilience, and flexibility from within, as well as Tong Ling Chi Kung, a subtle energy work that cultivates awareness, sensitivity, and internal connection.
With a calm, supportive teaching style and a sincere respect for the traditions he represents, Craig offers students of all levels an opportunity to grow in skill, confidence, and understanding. Whether you’re stepping into the world of Kung Fu for the first time or seeking to deepen your existing practice, Craig provides guidance rooted in tradition and delivered with warmth.
Akshi Bhargava
Kung Fu & Chi Kung/Qi Gong Instructor
Akshi Bhargava is a dedicated martial artist, Chi Kung practitioner, and certified yoga therapist, bringing a unique blend of internal and external training to our Kung Fu school in Jaipur, India. Her journey into traditional Chinese martial arts began at the Nam Yang Kung Fu Retreat in Pai, Thailand, where she arrived on April 2, 2022, without knowing just how deeply it would transform her life.
Drawn in by the grace, discipline, and underlying philosophy of Kung Fu, Akshi immersed herself in the training, steadily building her strength, skill, and understanding under the guidance of Master Iain Armstrong. What began as a leap into the unknown became a path of self-discovery and purpose.
Over time, her vision became clear: to bring the teachings of traditional Kung Fu and internal energy work to her home country. That dream has taken form in Kung Fu House, a residential training space in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
Here, students will train deeply, live simply, and reconnect with themselves through the ancient arts. Akshi has transformed Kung Fu House into a place of growth, practice, and healing.
Akshi teaches both the martial and soft styles of Kung Fu, including internal systems such as Shuang Yang Bai He Rou Ruan Quan and Tong Ling Chi Kung/ Qi Gong. With her background in yoga therapy, she brings a sensitive and holistic approach to instruction, helping students align body, breath, and spirit.
Her teaching is rooted in personal transformation and mindfulness. Whether guiding students through martial forms or internal energy practices, Akshi invites each person to explore their own potential with courage, presence, and heart.
Well-balanced, vegetarian, and nutritious meals are made fresh in the kitchen. The food menu is made by a nutritionist, taking our intensive training into consideration.
Non-vegetarian food can be ordered from outside sources by students.
At Kung Fu House, we teach in both English and Hindi. Craig, our senior instructor, is a native English speaker, while Akshi is fluent in both English and Hindi. Rest assured, both our instructors are highly proficient in the art and languages they use to teach Kung Fu.
